The Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World
Rising 200 metres above the surrounding plains, Sigiriya — the Lion Rock — is Sri Lanka's most iconic landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD, this ancient rock fortress houses frescoes, mirror walls, and spectacular water gardens at its base. The panoramic view from the summit is utterly unforgettable.
